Goodbye Mr Wizard

A long long looooooong time ago, when I was a little girl, there was a cable station called Nickelodeon. This is not the Nick we know today, the home of Spongebob and every tame fart and spooge joke known to man. This was home of Black Beauty reruns from the BBC as well as foreign educational programs (remember the Canuck jewel Today's Special?) and of course Mr Wizard's World. Mr Wizard was the cool old neighbor who let the kids come into his house and do science experiments. He taught us kids how much fun science could be, all while wearing a nice crew neck sweater. He was like a smarter Mr Rogers. Don "Mr Wizard" Herbert died of bone cancer today at the age of 89.
